Hi! My name is Brooke and I was diagnosed with CIDP in 2022.
Before I was diagnosed, I was a TSA officer and I had just transferred from one of the busiest airports in America. I was going through a divorce and I had a son in high school. COVID 19 had run rampant I I got caught up on its tail end. I had what doctors initially called “long COVID”.
I suffered with symptoms that no one could understand. The tingling in my feet started and I ignored it thinking I needed larger shoes. Then the falls started which I had no clue what caused them. Once I tackled the feet I started having severe pain in my hands. Let me tell, I have never felt anything like that pain. Eventually I was referred to a specialist who was able to diagnose me instantly.
During that time there were so many life altering things that led me to find training about mental health. Wishing there were more available mental health support available specifically for what I am going through, I enrolled and completed all the courses necessary to become a Certified Master Mental Health Coach.
I focus on CIDP because I know firsthand how overwhelming, isolating, and confusing life with this condition can feel. CIDP is rare, and that rarity often leaves people searching for answers, resources, and community that can be hard to find. My mission is to change that.
I do this to shine a light on a condition that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves — to give hope, clarity, and connection to those living with CIDP, their families, and their caregivers. This work is not just about raising awareness; it’s about making sure no one has to face this journey alone.
